One of the greatest things about JBF MidCities is that we get to see, meet and serve so many here in our community. We are excited to be a part of helping so many families save on the things they want and need.
Just Between Friends partners with a number of groups and charities. These groups make our events not only a shopping and selling gem for the community, but also an opportunity for our consignors to give back by donating their unsold items to charity.
Families helping families is the heart of Just Between Friends.
Bread for a Hungry World is a non-profit organization with the mission of sharing love by meeting the physical and spiritual needs of hurting people worldwide.
Founded in 1984, Bread began by feeding people starving in Botswana because of drought. Through the vision and energy of one man, Jon Jones, Bread for a Hungry World expanded to serve children in Honduras and fed over 100,000 people stranded in Burmese refugee camps. Jon's pioneering spirit and work over 18 years is the foundation for the Bread programs today.
From disaster relief in the United States to farming in Cuba and feeding centers in the Philippines, Mexico, Honduras, and Russia, Bread for a Hungry World tailors its programs based upon the country’s resources and the community’s needs.
Because of this, each program is unique and tailor made to serve where the needs are greatest.
Today, Bread reaches families and communities in six countries by providing the means to a more self-sufficient life. With hope for a new future, the children in these communities have the potential to change the entire face of a nation.
"Thank you JBF Mid cities. We were able to pass out clothes to kids in Honduras because of your generous donations." - Executive director
Second Glance was started by the Open Arms Home to benefit the organization’s mission and services for victims of domestic violence and their children. In 2006 Open Arms merged with the Community Enrichment Center which now operates the Second Glance Resale Shop.
Proceeds from the store still support the Open Arms Program as well as the other programs of the CEC benefiting disadvantaged families in our community. Whether shopping for bargains on gently used clothing and furniture or donating items to the store, your support of Second Glance ensures that the CEC can continue to serve families in need.
"Thank you to Mid Cities Grapevine Just Between Friends! They recently donated a large amount of children’s clothing and other items. The Community Enrichment Center is so fortunate to have these great partners to help us fulfill our mission and continue to serve those in our community!" - Director of CEC

"A HUGE thank you to Just Between Friends MidCities for the wonderful donation of children's clothes. Clothes Connection gives clothing to students in BISD that are in need. We have already given several of the items to our students! Clothes Connection appreciates your help and so do our students!!" - PTA Birdville ISD

At the MidCities Sales Event, we love helping area associations and groups by being a fundraising partner! Sign up for a consignor number and your group can sell at our next event! For non-profit associations and schools, we are glad to pass on extra earnings!
At our Spring 2012 JBF sale, consignors donated over 15,000 items to our non-profit partners. Choosing to donate your items helps our local community. You do not have to donate all items. You can choose which items are donated. Remember, too, that we pull all donated items FIRST during breakdown and all items are picked up by our local charities.
